OTF Analyst Ratings
Bulls say
Blue Owl Technology is supported by a resilient, high-quality credit platform that continues to produce strong earnings power, with 2Q26 adjusted NII per share of $0.33, investment income of $338mn, and a portfolio yield that improved to 9.4% on an amortized cost basis. Its fundamentals are strengthened by best-in-class credit discipline, with non-accruals still only 0.6% of the portfolio, about $2B of liquidity, and leverage around 0.93x, while active buybacks and a $0.40 dividend signal confidence in intrinsic value. The outlook is further bolstered by scale advantages, access to the Blue Owl Credit platform, and embedded upside from tech and AI equity holdings, especially as the pre-IPO lockup overhang has now passed.
Bears say
Blue Owl Technology is facing fundamental pressure from a quarter marked by lower-than-expected portfolio growth, with total investments at $14.07bn versus a $15.01bn estimate and net portfolio addition of only $171mn, while investment income of $326mn also missed expectations. NAV per share declined to $16.49, driven largely by credit spread widening, and management’s cautious stance on AI-related software lending suggests tempered originations and slower NII-to-dividend coverage. Although non-accruals remained low at 0.3% and the platform benefits from defensive enterprise software exposure, leverage, interest-rate sensitivity, and potential market disruption leave earnings quality and balance-sheet resilience vulnerable.
