GEMI Analyst Ratings
Bulls say
Gemini Space Station is attractive because its business is broadening beyond a volatile crypto exchange into a multi-vertical platform spanning Invest & Trade, Onchain, Card, and Predictions, which should improve operating leverage through shared trading, custody, compliance, and regulatory infrastructure. Despite industry volume falling 25% and retail and institutional trading volumes declining, it still produced $43.7M of net revenue, $26.0M of services and interest income, and a 46.7 bps blended capture, while management guided to about 20% lower core expenses in 2H26. The bullish case is further supported by rapid product traction—event contracts up 93% q/q, cumulative contracts above 225m, multi-product users nearly doubled Y/Y, and in-house clearing went live on August 4th, reducing roughly $250k per quarter in third-party fees and strengthening long-term economics.
Bears say
Gemini Space Station is pressured by a weak, transaction-driven model, with total transaction revenue falling 15% y/y to $17.8m and exchange revenue down 38% y/y as trading volume slumped 40% q/q to $3.8bn, reflecting heavy dependence on volatile crypto activity and institutional flows. Although services revenue rose 149% y/y to $23.5m and total revenue reached $45.5m, Adjusted EBITDA remained deeply negative at about $(49)m to $(74)m, while a $16.1m credit-loss provision and $219.6m of card receivables highlight credit and fraud risk. The company also faces persistent competition, regulatory uncertainty, and product initiatives that are still early-stage and not yet contributing materially, leaving the business exposed to further take-rate pressure and market weakness.
