Tezos ($XTZ) is known as the “self-amending blockchain.” Developed in 2018 by a husband and wife co-founder duo, the blockchain seeks to allow anyone who owns its currency (XTZ) to vote on possible changes to its rules. When the changes are agreed upon, the software automatically updates to ensure changes are made. This process differs from that of other blockchains adopting off-chain governance. Tezos was developed in hopes of reducing forking, meaning the creation of two separate cryptocurrencies on a blockchain with two distinct prices.
