Cardano was founded by Charles Hoskinson, the co-founder of Ethereum. Development of the blockchain platform began in 2015 and was launched in 2017.

Cardano has a supply cap of 45 billion ADA. There are currently 32 billion ADA in circulation. ADA is the native token used on the Cardano network. 

Cardano is named after an Italian Renaissance mathematician, Gerolamo Cardano, and its native token ADA is named after Ada Lovelace, a 19th-century English mathematician sometimes credited as the first computer programmer.

Cardano's (ADA) price has remained steady at $0.22 as it attempts to break above the 21-day SMA barrier or the $0.29 resistance level.
